We are looking for an ambitious Mentoring/Tutoring Program Coordinator, enthusiastic about helping children in the Greater Orlando community succeed. As the AmeriCorps VISTA, you will serve in a public school, fostering community relationships in efforts to recruit dedicated volunteers who will inspire positive behavior and academic growth for at-risk students. Responsibilities Include:
Recruitment and Community Outreach
- Research the school and surrounding community to better understand school needs and potential community partnerships
- Cultivate relationships with faith-based, business, and other community partners to recruit volunteers, and solicit new donations
- Assist in developing and facilitating volunteer trainings
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment and appreciation events
- Monitor volunteer performance and provide ongoing feedback
- Work cooperatively with the VISTA team and supervisor to monitor program activities to assist in program evaluation
- Collaborate with school staff and administration to create long-term plans and systems for the volunteer programs
