Business Analytics Fellow

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Indians Fellowship program is designed to accelerate the pace of development and impact for high-potential candidates. Fellowship roles are focused on complex business challenges, developing new approaches, tools and techniques to meaningfully drive the business forward.

The Analytics Fellow will partner with Strategy & Analytics department to advance decision-making quality across the business organization through strategic analysis. They will assist relevant departments in maintaining and improving the organization’s critical analytics functions (e.g. ticketing/revenue models, product development, data management, business intelligence). They will be integral in the development and implementation of descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis that supports Strategic Priorities across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Strategic Analysis & Project Management

  • Partner with analysts to improve and maintain critical business functions including, but not limited to, pricing of all products, sales forecasting, business reporting (Tableau) and customer behavior modelling. Evaluate efficacy of methods and partner with department leaders and Strategy team to assist in implementation of methods cross departmentally.
  • Assist analysts in monitoring, evaluating and improving functioning of MARTA (ticketing/revenue models) and continued integration of predictions into decision making process.
  • Partner with IS and S&A departments to identify, organize, analyze, and present data from sources such as ticket sales, food and beverage sales, social media interaction, survey responses, and employee hiring for applications including but not limited to ticket offerings, sales prospecting, budget planning, and Game Day operations. Assist in developing organizations capabilities in displaying business intelligence through Tableau.
  • Research and evaluate opportunities in order to provide leaders with strategic recommendations and alternatives on critical business initiatives and strategies. Approach business challenges and questions from a quantitative and analytical perspective, using data to improve processes and develop clear recommendations.
  • Assist various department leaders in compiling analytics based evidence to inform decisions that are likely to result in meaningful changes to existing business practices
  • Synthesize and communicate actionable insights through written, visual, and interactive mediums.

Fellowship Program Participation

  • Engage actively in all on-boarding programming as well as on-going development activities, training and coaching
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (business administration, economics, mathematics/statistics, operations research, information science, etc.) is required
  • Experience in management consulting / corporate strategy / analytics is preferred


Job Requirements:

  • Excellent reasoning, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and communication skills at tactical and strategic levels.
  • The ideal candidate will have familiarity and good judgment with a broad range of methodologies and tools, such as exploratory data analysis, generalized linear models, machine learning approaches, simulation, networks, and optimization.
  • Experience using quantitative tools and analytic methods in a professional setting for functions such as financial modelling, survey data analysis, product design, pricing, impact forecasting or organizational decision making preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently drive projects and deliver superior results
  • Ability to query and manipulate data for analysis as well as implement and maintain automated analysis routines.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SQL, and R / SAS / SPSS / Stata / MATLAB or equivalent. VBA, web programming languages (HTML, PHP, CSS, JS, etc.), and BI presentation software (Tableau, Tibco, QlikView, etc.) are a plus.
