The Position  

This position is for a highly motivated computer engineer who has a strong desire to join our excellent team of data scientist and engineers in developing critical applications and services to unleash the power of data. You will be an integral part of the Data Science product development team, sometimes investigating new requirements and design and sometimes refactoring existing functionality for performance and maintainability, but always working on ways to make us more efficient and provide better solutions to our end customers. Candidate must be flexible and willing to switch tasks based on team’s needs. Almost all of our application development work is orchestrated utilizing agile methodology.

As a member of the scrum team:

·         Work with senior engineers and data scientist to build data science prototypes

·         Work with senior engineers to design new functionality or refactor existing functionality

·         Work across the team to ensure the team is predictable, productive, and delivering high quality.

·         Collaborate with scrum team to extend continuous integration, build automation, test automation, and deployment automation.

·         Participate in design and code reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.

·         Support trouble shooting issues in both the test and production environments

·         Respond to and solve defects in a timely manner consistent with the business needs

Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or relevant field required.

·         Development experience utilizing Java or c/c++

·         Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL and experience with database client tools with databases like Oracle and SQL.

·         Familiarity with Spring, JavaScript frameworks like JQuery, CSS, JSON desired

·         Familiarity with web services standards and related technologies (XML, SOAP, etc.) desired

·         Experience with source control, build and deployment tools such as Git, Jira, Artifactory desired

·         Strong analytical skills with good problem solving ability

·         Candidate must be able to proficiently multi-task and be able to work independently or in a team environment.
